چکیده

The long-termfollow-up over a period of2 to 5years of thefirst 7 survivors of complete correction with homograft reconstruction in pulmonary outflow atresia and extreme Fallot has been studied. Symptomatically, the patients have remained excellent with return to normal of the chest x-rays and electrocardiograms. Investigation has shown continued good function of the homograft aortic valve in the pulmonary position without evidence ofprogressive pulmonary stenosis or regurgitation. Calcification in the aortic wall is common and occurs quickly but does not interfere with the function of the valve.

Infectious false aneurysm of the right ventricular outflow tract after repair of congenital heart defect treated with Freestyle aortic bioprosthesis.

OBJECTIVES False aneurysm of the right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT) is one of complications after surgery of congenital heart disease. It is controversial about materials for reconstruction of RVOT in this setting, when associated with pulmonary hypertension or bacterial infection. Pulmonary homograft seems to be the first choice, but its availability is extremely limited in Japan. METHOD...

Hospital mortality in surgery for right ventricular outflow tract reconstruction using pulmonary homograft

Background: Hospital mortality in surgical reconstruction of the right ventricular outflow tract using pulmonary homograft is variable. Objectives: To identify risk factors associated with hospital mortality and patients’ clinical profile. Methods: Study on children who had undergone reconstruction of the right ventricular outflow tract using pulmonary homograft. We analyzed as risk factors the...

Annuloplasty of cryopreserved pulmonary homograft with Delrin stent in pulmonary atresia with ventricular septal defect.

A six-year-old child was suffering from pulmonary atresia with ventricular septal defect after a total correction at 1 year of age using a bovine pericardial monocusp valve in the reconstruction of the right ventricle outflow tract. The infant evolved with significant pulmonary valve regurgitation (PVR) and right ventricle dysfunction. On reoperation, a cryopreserved pulmonary homograft (CPH) w...

Wheadey, D. J., Prusty, S., and Ross, D. N. (1974). Thorax, 29, 617-623. Reconstruction of right ventricular outflow with a valved homograft conduit. Since 1966 a conduit of homograft ascending aorta with its valve has been used for reconstruction of the right ventricular outflow. This technique has been applied to 123 operations for pulmonary autograft replacement of the aortic valve, 48 opera...

The contegra® valved heterograft conduit for right ventricular outflow tract reconstruction: a reliable solution.

INTRODUCTION The Contegra® bioprosthetic valved conduit, a glutaraldehyde-preserved valve-containing bovine jugular vein graft (Contegra, Medtronic Inc., Minneapolis MN, USA) introduced for clinical trials in 1998, is used for reconstruction of the right ventricular outflow tract (RVOT), mainly in children. This study evaluates our surgical experience with the Contegra® graft, emphasizing the a...
